Clinical pathology involves the laboratory evaluation of blood, fluids or body tissues in order to identify existing disease. Common laboratory tests include blood chemistries, complete blood counts, blood clotting times, urinalysis, faecal tests, biopsy examination, cultures and infectious disease testing.
We can take blood, urine, and faecal samples and submit them for rapid, next-day analysis by highly accurate external laboratories. We can also do fine needle aspirates, skin scrapings and impression smears of cutaneous lesions. We may refer your pet to a veterinary centre for more invasive procedures such as excisional biopsies.
